Nicklaus Design was the company that designed and built this fantastic 18 hole par 68 golf course. Wide fairways predominate in this course, contrasting with large bunkers and lakes. Although the course is not very long, 5,403 meters from the white tees, it requires a lot of attention, especially on all greens, as they are very well defended by bunkers, lakes and their turtle shell shapes that can carry the ball to the obstacles that protect it.
A course with consistent and fast greens, surrounded by bunkers and strategically located lakes. Greenes who reject the ball if it has not been hit accurately, their turtle shell shapes cause the ball to roll to obstacles. Without a doubt, an ideal field for a strategic, exciting and precise game. All holes have five tee boxes which makes it much more fun depending on the level of each player.
If there is one thing that stands out on the La Torre Golf course, it is its six par 3. Six holes that require a very accurate tee shot to get out with a par from the hole. The first par 3 we meet on the course is hole 3, 164 meters from yellow. The hole is uphill with a green very well protected by numerous bunkers. Hole 5 of just 131 meters is defended by a large bunker that we will have to fly to reach the green platform, going from green means getting into big problems due to the vegetation that delimits it. The 145 meter 9th hole is a difficult hole, with water to the right and behind the green. Hole 11, 170 meters and with handicap 4 is one of the most difficult of the course, water on the right and out of bounds on its left. Its green with a prominent turtle shell shape that can take the ball to the lake. The 139-meter 15th hole may be the most affordable, but you can’t trust it at any time because of its out of bounds on the left. The 153-meter hole 17 has everything, lateral water, bunkers and out of bounds on the left, a challenge in precision.
A great story to tellIf there is something left over to the La Torre golf course it is history. Despite its 11 years of life, some of the most important sporting events in Spain have passed through its facilities.
